Singing since the age of 5, in the early years of his career, Murrell earned his stripes by opening up locally for a list of contemporary gospel legends including, Mary, Mary, Byron Cage, Smokie Norful, John P Kee, and Martha Munizzi, among others.He has also recorded and performed as a background vocalist with R&B/urban stars Musiq Soulchild, Glenn Jones, Coco (of SWV), Will Downing and Ann Nesby of Sounds of Blackness.
